Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter 1 - October 2013
In this first edition of Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter the Director of the demonstration Gordon Boxall talks about ‘Supporting school leavers with disabilities’ on the second page we are introduced to the Christchurch team and there is an article titled ‘What Inspired Enabling Good Lives?’. On the next page a section about the members of the Local Advisory Group which includes disabled people, family members and other disability sector leaders in Christchurch. With an explanation of the group’s purpose, it will work on the design of the Enabling Good Lives demonstration and oversee its development. Finally, an informative article about ‘Who is eligible for Enabling Good Lives?’ and a Q & A section.

Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter 2 - November 2013
In the 2nd edition of Christchurch’s newsletter Gordon talks about how the demonstration is progressing in his Director’s Report, then there is a special article by Bob Rhodes, co-founder of the British organisation LivesthroughFriends as he talks about his frustrations with disability around the world. This issue we've got a Good Life Story from Tyler and then an article about how the ‘Going Places’ team joins the EGL demonstration. Then a report on Enabling Good Lives families workshop held on November 6th 2013 that focused on future planning, after that Hannah Perry the Lead Navigator writes about creating a unique plan for every young person. Finally, there are two articles about how to become an EGL navigator and community connections.

Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter 3: December 2013 - January 2014
In the 3rd issue of Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch’s Newsletter there is the Director’s Report by Gordon Boxall followed by an introduction to Richard Buchanan, Manager of Provider Relationships and Personalised Funding, on the same page we are introduced to Monique Harding, the Demonstration Coordinator. Then there are 3 Good Life Stories including how EGL has helped the Andrell family, Kerri Bonner and Alex Thomas. Other articles include upcoming events, introductions to new Navigators joining the team and how Providers are building on success of EGL.

In this 5th issue of Christchurch’s newsletter Gordon’s Director’s Report is followed by an update from Ruth Jones, Manager of Communities and Families talking about ‘Young participants and their progress’, within this issue there are 2 Good Life Stories first Ricky Redmond’s success with his rural studies and the Lamont’s response to Dr. Michael Kendrick’s presentation to Enabling Good Lives in March of 2014. In this 6th issue of Christchurch’s Enabling Good Life Newsletter we’ve got Gordon Director’s Report, an article from Richard Buchanan about EGL and Provider Connections. Information about a workshop about people with Individualised Funding and Recruiting, another section advertising an event about Enabling Good Lives Family Information evening in October 2014. This issue includes two Good Lives Stories the first about Sam Taylor and his new fitness regime and the second about Jasmine Byron and following her dreams. Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter 7: October - November 2014
In this October to November 2014 issue of Christchurch’s newsletter along with Gordon’s Director’s Report and Richard Buchanan the Manager of Provider Relationships and Personalised Funding update, there is an article by Hannah Perry the Lead Navigator about ‘Navigating the principles of Enabling Good Lives’. There are 5 Good Life Stories including Cara’s story about her good life that is continuing after school, Brooke Larmen’s academic achievements at Cashmere High School, Jason Beswick’s many achievements surrounding art and school and Tarwyn Nicholson’s talents surrounding woodwork and his amazing craftsmanship. Finally, a story about Rachel Baker’s experience working in The Warehouse as part of the Red Shirts in Schools Programme. Information about a Family picnic event at the Groynes and an EGL School Leavers Event in February 2015. To end the issue there is an article about EGL families meeting Nicky Wagner, the new Minister for Disabilities in October 2014.

This Summer 2015 issue of Christchurch’s Newsletter includes Gordon’s Director’s Report along with EGL and Provider Connections and EGL Provider Lunchbox Sessions event information, another update from Hannah Perry and Annette Van Dongen about Families And Community Development and an article titled ‘Making Community Life Happen’. Then on page 4 there is an informational piece on ‘Navigating the principles of Enabling Good Lives’. The next few pages detail 3 Good Life Stories from Tamara Nolan, Tina Jordan and Amber Ranson about how they’re achieving their good life. Then there is an article for EGL for Students Who Are Leaving School In 2015 & Those who are ‘Opting In’, information about events such as the Job Fair and S.T.A.R.S. Family Event.

Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter 10 - Summer 2015
Gordon Boxall welcomes readers to the 10th edition of the Enabling Good Lives, Christchurch Newsletter with his Director’s Report. In this issue there are 4 Good Life Stories from Laura Skerten, Joe Ward and his up and coming rap career, Sam Teesdale with his role in Oliver Twist and finally Mustafa Al Momani’s NCEA creative writing piece about his childhood in Jordan. As well as updates from Richard Buchanan about Provider Connections and the EGL Provider Lunchbox Session event. A piece by the Co-Manager’s of Communities and Families Annette Van Dongen and Hannah Perry talk about development. An article about the Second Feedback Loop response which was carried out by Standards and Monitoring Services (SAMS) to gather feedback from individuals and families involved with EGL. The last page details upcoming events like the ‘Know Your Rights’ talk with the Health and Disability Commissioner next Friday 11th March.

In Christchurch Enabling Good Lives’ newest issue of their newsletter it begins with Gordon’s Director’s Report, then two articles an update from Richard Buchanan about Provider Connections and an update from Annette Van Dongen and Hannah Perry, Managers of Families and Communities about developments. Then a story about a New mural from the Earthquake Disability Leadership Group (EDLG) and EGL’s participant Rachel Baker’s experience of her Hanmer Springs trip on page 5. After that a page displaying other participants Summertime photos, an article about Life Beyond Navigation a reminder to EGL families that the Navigator’s will be beginning to work with 2016/2017 school leavers soon.
