Spirit of Service Award - Leadership and Governance
Enabling Good Lives (EGL) governance and leadership groups are the winners of the State Services Commission’s Spirit of Service award.
The EGL governance and leadership groups were nominated in the ‘Leadership and Governance’ category. This category recognises outstanding public sector leadership in governance.
The EGL leadership and governance groups were nominated by the Ministries of Health and Social Development.

Next Steps Expo 2019!!
The Next Steps expo is held every year - a collaborative event with local service providers, community organisations and entrepreneurs. The aim is to showcase what is available in greater Christchurch and to assist young people with disabilities and their families look at opportunities beyond school ... to connect young people and their families to local clubs, groups, networks, volunteering opportunities, sports, gardens, games and choirs ... any possibilities and opportunities happening in their neighbourhoods that they are keen to be involved with, as well as ensuring full citizenship; making use of the services and supports that all New Zealanders have available to them.
The 2019 Next Steps Expo is on Monday 15th April at Haeata Community Campus, in Aranui, and there is no cost to participate or to attend (but feel free to bring cash to support some young entrepreneurs who will be showcasing their businesses!!). See the Next Steps FaceBook page for more info -

ORS funded students who are in their final years of school, are invited to bring their families and join us for kai and conversation! Join us on Saturday, 3 March 2018, 10am – 12pm at Christchurch Community House 301 Tuam Street, Christchurch We will start the session with a brief discussion on: - What Enabling Good Lives is all about - What an Independent Facilitator does - The steps in the EGL journey - Any questions you might have The rest of the time will be for you to chat with the facilitators and with other families. -
